Metadata training

  • Eclipse with XMLEspresso plug-in
    • Free open-source development tool that supports XML editing, validation, transforms, and (with subclipse plug-in) SVN repository usage.
  • Oxygen XML Editor
    • Cross-platform XML editing desktop tool. Not free; some licenses in NCEI.
  • Altova XMLSpy
    • Cross-platform XML editing desktop tool. Not free; some licenses in NCEI.
  • NcISO
    • Software to generate ISO metadata from NetCDF files. Works standalone or integrated with THREDDS Data Server
  • Xsltproc
    • Linux command line tool to process XSL/XSLT files (version 1.0 only).
  • Other ISO Editors
    • List produced by US Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC)
